I have the feeling that the Antarctic Quest 21 team just sneaked out of the country before more stringent ‘omicron’-related restrictions made it even more difficult to get this expedition on its way.
Even the ‘on the beach’ team of advisors left on the shores of the UK got swept up in the complications of last-minute changes in COVID-19 testing requirements and rejoiced in seeing the ‘on the ice’ team board the flight at London Heathrow.
I wish the expedition and its scientific mission success and that each member of the team will be able to fulfil their personal aims and dreams, too.
